Valentine's Day is Coming!

Valentine's Day is just a couple of weeks away! But the staff here at Chappell's Florist has been preparing for Valentine's Day since January 2nd. We had to place our order for roses early in January followed by placing orders for other high demand flowers so that we will have enough product to meet consumer demand. We than have to hire extra floral designers and sales people many of which have helped us for several years at the holidays. And lastly we have to higher approximately 20 extra delivery drivers so that we can handle all the deliveries into Burlington VT and the surrounding area.

We are often asked why are roses so expensive at Valentine's Day? It all starts with the growers for them to have enough product for the demand on February 14th, they have to pinch back a crop in late December in order to force enough blooms to meet that demand. So they increase their price to make up for the crop that was lost in December. The wholesaler now has to buy the roses at a much high cost from the grower before adding their mark up on and thus the florist is paying substantially more for their product prior to mark up. Although red roses are in high demand many consumers chose to send floral arrangements that are filled with other holiday colored flowers and are less expensive. Whatever your needs Chappell's Florist will be glad to assist you and expressing your sentiments. Shop 24/7 at www.chappellsflorist.com or call us at 802-658-4733

We will be delivering to: Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Colchester, Essex Jct.,Williston and Shelburne VT as well as UVM, Champlain Colleges and Fletcher Allen Medical Center on Valentine's Day.
